Child Protection and Safeguarding Policy

At Fountain Schools, the safety, well-being, and protection of every child are of paramount importance. We are committed to providing a secure, caring, and nurturing environment where all learners are respected, valued, and protected from harm. We believe that every child has the right to learn, grow, and develop in an environment that promotes dignity, safety, and positive relationships.

Fountain Schools adopts a zero-tolerance approach to all forms of child abuse, neglect, exploitation, discrimination, bullying, harassment, and any conduct that may compromise the safety or well-being of a learner. This commitment extends to all members of the school community, including learners, staff, parents, guardians, visitors, contractors, and any individuals engaged in school activities.

Safeguarding encompasses the promotion of children’s physical, emotional, psychological, and social well-being. The school is committed to creating an environment where learners feel safe to express themselves, seek support, and report concerns without fear of intimidation, discrimination, or retaliation.

All members of staff are expected to maintain the highest standards of professional conduct and to act in the best interests of every child at all times. Staff members are required to demonstrate appropriate behavior, maintain professional boundaries, and remain vigilant in identifying and responding to concerns that may indicate abuse, neglect, exploitation, or any risk to a child’s welfare.

Any concerns regarding the safety or well-being of a learner should be reported promptly through the school’s established safeguarding procedures. All reports shall be treated seriously, handled confidentially, and addressed in accordance with applicable laws, school procedures, and the best interests of the child.

The school is committed to promoting awareness of child protection and safeguarding among learners, staff, and parents through education, training, and open communication. Learners are encouraged to develop an understanding of personal safety, respectful relationships, responsible behavior, and how to seek help when necessary.

Fountain Schools also recognizes the importance of online safety and is committed to promoting responsible and secure use of digital technologies. Learners are guided on appropriate internet usage, digital citizenship, privacy, and the prevention of cyberbullying and other forms of online harm.

Visitors and external service providers are expected to conduct themselves in a manner that supports the safety and well-being of learners while on school premises or during school activities. The school reserves the right to take appropriate action where conduct is considered inconsistent with this policy or poses a risk to child safety.

This Child Protection and Safeguarding Policy may be reviewed and updated periodically to ensure continued compliance with legal requirements and best practices in child protection and safeguarding.
