ICT and Acceptable Use Policy
Fountain Schools recognizes the important role that information and communication technology plays in modern education. The school is committed to providing learners with access to digital resources and technology that support teaching, learning, creativity, communication, and the development of essential digital literacy skills. This policy establishes guidelines for the responsible, safe, and appropriate use of information and communication technology within the school environment.
The school’s technology resources, including computers, internet services, educational software, digital devices, networks, and online learning platforms, are provided primarily for educational and school-related purposes. Learners, staff, and authorized users are expected to use these resources responsibly, ethically, and in a manner that supports learning and respects the rights and safety of others.
All users are expected to demonstrate responsible digital citizenship by using technology respectfully, maintaining appropriate online behavior, and protecting personal and school information. Users must not engage in activities that may compromise the security, functionality, or reputation of the school or negatively affect the learning experience of others.
The use of technology for unlawful, harmful, offensive, discriminatory, abusive, or inappropriate purposes is strictly prohibited. This includes, but is not limited to, cyberbullying, harassment, accessing inappropriate content, sharing offensive materials, violating privacy rights, attempting unauthorized access to systems or information, and using school technology resources for activities unrelated to educational purposes.
The school is committed to promoting online safety and educating learners on responsible internet use, digital privacy, cyber security awareness, and appropriate communication practices. Learners are encouraged to exercise caution when using online resources and to seek guidance from teachers or parents whenever they encounter content or situations that make them feel uncomfortable or unsafe.
Users are responsible for protecting their passwords, login credentials, and personal information and must not share confidential information without authorization. Any actual or suspected security concerns, misuse of technology resources, or inappropriate online behavior should be reported promptly to the school administration or an appropriate member of staff.
Parents and guardians play an important role in supporting responsible technology use by reinforcing positive digital habits and encouraging safe and balanced use of technology at home. The school values collaboration between parents and educators in promoting digital citizenship and ensuring that learners use technology safely and responsibly.
Fountain Schools reserves the right to manage, monitor, and protect its technology resources where necessary to maintain system security, ensure compliance with school policies, and support the educational objectives of the institution, while respecting privacy and confidentiality requirements in accordance with applicable laws.
This ICT and Acceptable Use Policy may be reviewed and updated periodically to reflect technological developments, educational requirements, and legal obligations.
