Behaviour & Discipline Policy
Fountain Schools is committed to providing a safe, respectful, and supportive learning environment that promotes positive behavior, personal responsibility, and the holistic development of every learner. We believe that discipline is an essential part of education and plays a vital role in helping learners develop self-control, integrity, respect for others, and the ability to make responsible decisions.
The school seeks to foster a culture where positive behavior is encouraged, recognized, and reinforced. Learners are expected to demonstrate honesty, courtesy, responsibility, respect for others, and respect for school property. Every member of the school community shares the responsibility of creating and maintaining an environment that supports learning, cooperation, and mutual respect.
Behaviour expectations apply during all school-related activities, including classroom learning, co-curricular programmes, school events, educational trips, and any activity conducted under the supervision or authority of the school. Learners are encouraged to conduct themselves in a manner that reflects the school’s values of Love, Hope, and Faith and its tradition of Service and Excellence.
Positive discipline is based on guidance, encouragement, and the development of self-discipline rather than punishment. The school is committed to helping learners understand the consequences of their actions, learn from their experiences, and develop the skills necessary to make positive choices. Teachers and staff provide appropriate guidance, support, and interventions to encourage responsible behavior and personal growth.
Behaviors that negatively affect the safety, well-being, dignity, or learning opportunities of others are not acceptable. Such behaviors may include bullying, harassment, violence, discrimination, vandalism, dishonesty, persistent disruption of learning activities, misuse of technology, and any conduct that compromises the safety or welfare of members of the school community.
Where concerns regarding learner behavior arise, the school is committed to addressing them fairly, respectfully, and in a manner that promotes understanding, accountability, and positive change. Appropriate interventions may include guidance, counseling, restorative discussions, parental engagement, and other supportive measures designed to encourage responsible behavior and personal development.
Parents and guardians play an important role in promoting positive behavior and discipline. The school values strong partnerships with families and encourages open communication and cooperation in supporting learners to develop self-discipline, respect, responsibility, and positive attitudes toward learning and relationships.
The Competency Based Curriculum (CBC) recognizes values-based education and character development as essential aspects of holistic learning. Through learner-centered experiences and practical opportunities, learners develop competencies such as self-awareness, collaboration, communication, and responsible citizenship that contribute to positive behavior and lifelong success.
This Behaviour and Discipline Policy may be reviewed and updated periodically to ensure continued effectiveness and alignment with educational requirements, best practices, and applicable laws.
